Tumbulgum and the Countdown to Midnight at the First Supper Between Now and Forever: a wondrous and heart-warming performance by Opera Queensland and Tumbulgum Hall.

There’s been an accident on the river. A collision. Someone has died and, when that happens, souls come to wait here on the bank to find out who will be taken into the afterlife. They’re waiting for the Ferryman to decide.

The Tumbulgum Hall will be transformed by  Opera Queensland into this other-worldly place, a place where souls meet
 and where the community comes together. And while souls meet this December, they’ll be taken on a musical journey into the next world and into forever.

Salon de Sketchy

Here’s an art class experience with a difference: an adults-only life drawing evening where the models are performers from the worlds of burlesque, circus, striptease, music, dance, theatre, and various exotic subcultures.

Hosted monthly in Sugarmill Studio in Murwillumbah, these self-guided life drawing events feature 5, 10, 15 and 20 minute static model poses, where you draw at your own pace in a relaxed, fun atmosphere with mellow music.

The audience also gets to see the model perform a live five-minute show – it could be a fan dance, a striptease, or a handstand balancing act.

You don’t have to be an artist to join in at Salon de Sketchy, beginners are welcome! Please bring your own pencils and paper.

We have had some amazing artists so far this year! Burlesque artists Lena Marlene and Cello Bordello, hula hoop artist Ginger Spin Ninja, handstand artist Li Pawson, circus artist Sera Tonin and Blueberry the clown.  All in downtown Murwillumbah!

On the first Friday of the month, visit Stokers Siding for its Fifteen Minutes of Fame.

This quirky and popular variety show features quality acts from near and far.

Delicious home-style meals are available from 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.

Show entry $10 with no charge for school-aged children.

The menu changes from show to show, but costs are $10 for a main course and  $5 for desserts.  Tea and coffee available, BYO other beverages.

The hall is heated during winter and there is ample parking available.

Salon de Sketchy

Here’s an art class experience with a difference: an adults-only life drawing evening where the models are performers from the worlds of burlesque, circus, striptease, music, dance, theatre, and various exotic subcultures.

Hosted monthly in Sugarmill Studio in Murwillumbah, these self-guided life drawing events feature 5, 10, 15 and 20 minute static model poses, where you draw at your own pace in a relaxed, fun atmosphere with mellow music.

The audience also gets to see the model perform a live five-minute show – it could be a fan dance, a striptease, or a handstand balancing act.

You don’t have to be an artist to join in at Salon de Sketchy, beginners are welcome! Please bring your own pencils and paper.

We have had some amazing artists so far this year! Burlesque artists Lena Marlene and Cello Bordello, hula hoop artist Ginger Spin Ninja, handstand artist Li Pawson, circus artist Sera Tonin and Blueberry the clown.  All in downtown Murwillumbah!

Over a six-day period from 25-30 May, the town and shops of Murwillumbah become a gallery and we invite you to follow the exhibition trail, which includes established galleries, artists’ studios, pop-up galleries and public art.
