Murwillumbah Art Trail 2018: Moving On

The fourth annual Murwillumbah Art Trail 2018 (MAT18) transforms Murwillumbah by showcasing our vibrant arts community.

Murwillumbah becomes the canvas and the context, embracing painting, performance, sculpture, film, dance, street celebrations, food, wine and much more.

Moving On reflects the aftermath of the flood, the resilience of the community and the capacity for art to heal. It goes further than that, though.

Moving On can apply to everyone, in all stages of their lives, for better or for worse. We invite artists and performers to address the 2018 theme with the ingenuity and engagement that allowed our community to deal with the aftermath of the flood.

While art has the capacity to reflect and put things into place, it’s also a lot of fun. Our sense of humour makes us survivors.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the Murwillumbah Art Trail, sink into the atmosphere of excitement and fun as you rediscover what our town has to offer.

As we consider Moving On in all its meanings.

They’re back and funnier than ever – all your favourite characters from the famed TV series Vicar Of Dibley in a brand new live show. Laugh out loud to another adventure with the Vicar, Alice, David, Hugo, Frank, Jim and Owen. You’ll be rolling in the aisles.

Showing on May 18, 19, 25, 29, June 1, 2, 3, 8, 9. Night shows at 7.30pm, Sunday afternoon shows at 2pm.

Grab a blanket and get to Knox Park for some Market Life! Set in a relaxing and creative environment, the Makers and Finders Market is an excellent venue for artists, vintage wares and musicians from the Tweed Region to come together and share their creations and for the community to come to shop, meet, eat, drink and play.

Located in the family friendly Knox Park in Murwillumbah, take the time to relax under the shade of the trees, throw a blanket on the grass and enjoy the live music while the kids play at the newly renovated Youth Precinct and skate facilities with something to entertain and delight kids of all ages.

Swing by and get some gourmet eats, grab a blanket and sit under the trees with friends, enjoying the sweet sounds of live local music, check out over 50 artists and designers and grab a one off piece for yourself.
