Family Fun

Family Fun

Laugh, smile, the odd tantrum … it’s all about family and
being together.

Embark on a unique family holiday and reclaim time for your family, while relaxing in a small community environment.  In the Tweed you will discover a holiday destination packed with excitement, adventure, indulgence, surprise and relaxation for all the family to enjoy.

The Tweed boasts 35km of uncrowded and unspoilt coastline which makes for a family-favourite destination. Coastal accommodation offers range from affordable beachfront holiday parks to luxury resorts. It doesn’t get much better than running along the beach chasing seagulls and trying to catch hermit crabs before they disappear down holes to safety. Along the foreshore you’ll find free barbecues for use and ideal picnic spots.

The key to the ideal family holiday is finding that balance between ‘rest’ and ‘play’ which the Tweed certainly offers. Why not ‘rest’ by the pool or at the beach, teach your children the joy of fishing from a quiet riverbank or sneak away for an hour or two of pampering at a day spa.  As for ‘recreation’ – that’s where the Tweed really comes into its own. With its network of waterways and its spectacular valley surrounded by rainforest-clad mountains, you can do something totally different every day … without breaking the holiday budget.

The Visitor Information Centres at Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah have detailed touring brochures, as well as a wealth of information on all the activities available in the region – including tickets to the Gold Coast’s famous theme parks that are less than an hours’ drive up the Pacific Motorway (M1).

The Tweed is a getaway where kids can get back to nature and parents can take a mental break from busy life. Meet other holiday makers, engage with the locals or simply absorb yourselves as a family and enjoy quality time together.
