The 3rd ‘Tweed Artisan Food Weekend’ is coming in hot, kicking off this Friday 27th November. An array of local Northern Rivers producers will showcase the fruits of their labour at sixteen tantalising events.
From gin tasting to pasta making to brewery tours the program is jam packed with the finest the region has on offer. Local chefs have teamed up with celebrated chefs such as Christine Manfield and Ben Devlin to whip up a local feast for the senses.
Destination Tweed has gathered farmers and producers to highlight the organic nature and real taste of the Tweed. As a member based organization for the people, Destination Tweed represents the regions industry from the paddock to the plate.
Artisans such as Cheeses Loves You, Salumi, Woodland Valley Pasta, Husk Distillery, Red Earth Brewery, Stone & Wood, Wild Venison, Australian Bay Lobster and Terranora Lakes Oysters are threaded throughout the weekend.
Friday starts with a coffee tour and tasting with award winning roaster Zeta Grealy on her Carool mountain top farm. Followed by a Tweed Escapes ‘Trawler to Plate’ seafood river cruise lunch, which includes a Husk Distillery Tour and Red Earth Brewery tasting.
As the sun sets over Wollumbin Mt Warning ‘Hotel Tropicana’ comes to life at the stunning Plantation House adjacent to Tropical Fruit World-fruit cocktails, tasty tapas and DJ beats kick off the Friday night soiree.
Pasta and Prosecco runs throughout the weekend and is an on-farm experience at Woodland Valley Farm- a journey of pasta making from the South to the North of Italy. Learn all about vertical, sustainable farming and how to make the most of a working chicken farm from the ground up.
Hosanna Farm Stay have the families covered with back to back farm tours throughout the weekend- offering good old-fashioned tractor rides, animal feeding and live music paired with woodfire pizza into the evening.
